Charlotte Hounds News Release

Charlotte, N.C. (November 3, 2011) - The initial fundraiser for the Charlotte Hounds Foundation is all set for Saturday, November 19 at American Legion Memorial Stadium...in the form of a World Record attempt.

Team Hounds Blue and Team Hounds White will face-off at 8:00am ET on Saturday, November 19 and go for 13+ hours. The current Guinness World Record for Longest Continuous Mens Lacrosse Game is 12 hours, 8 minutes. All members of the two 40-man rosters are collecting donations in the form of pledges for time played. All proceeds go to The Charlotte Hounds Foundation. Donations can be made online at http://houndsfoundation.dojiggy.com.

"The Charlotte Hounds have adopted the slogan 'Lacrosse is HUGE in Charlotte' and our initial fundraising event for the Foundation won't disappoint," said Wade Leaphart, Director of Sales & Marketing. "There's a lot of passion in this community, particularly for this great sport. These guys are going all out to make this thing a success." Team President, Jim McPhilliamy added "We're really excited about the Foundation...growing the sport of lacrosse through grassroots programs, supporting area leagues and clubs, and partnering with Mecklenburg County Park & Rec on revitalizing Memorial Stadium, among other things."

The Hounds will also be hosting their inaugural Season Ticket Holder Select-a-Seat Event that day from 10:00 am - 2:00pm ET. Fans who have placed a deposit for 2012 Season Tickets will be allowed to handpick their seats by appointment, based on priority. "The World Record Game will give our season seat holders the chance to see live action on the field and select their seats based on preferred sight lines," said Damon Roschke, Ticket Sales Manager. "It's not too late to place a deposit but if you're curious, come on out and look around."

In addition to the World Record Game and Select-a-Seat, there will be new Charlotte Hounds merchandise available for purchase, promotional booths and representatives from area leagues and teams and other activities. The event is FREE and open to the public with complimentary parking.
