Charlotte Adds 10 New Signings to 2006 Roster

(Charlotte, NC) - Charlotte Eagles Professional Soccer announced today the signings of 10 new players for 2006. The new additions will give the Defending National Champions youthfulness and international flair to an already experienced roster. The Eagles are proud to introduce the following new signings for 2006:

Adam Ruud, Midfielder / Forward - Went to college at UNC Charlotte where he was a 1st Team All Atlantic 10 and 1st Team All Conference USA pick. Known for his speed and ability to get behind the defense. Finishes the ball well.

Casey Barton, Defender - Played professionally 3 years with the Kansas City Comets of the MISL. Strong defender, tough & aggressive, possesses great speed.

Joseph Kabwe, Midfielder - Coastal Carolina University graduate. Played for the Zimbabwe National Team. Outstanding passing ability and field vision.

Gregg Shroeder, Defender - Played for Eagles PDL affiliate Southern California Seahorses in 2003, and played professionally in Sweden in 2005. Reads the game very well and is a very accurate passer.

Anthony Stovall, Midfielder - University of South Carolina graduate. Played for PDL Seahorses in 2005 and spent time with Chivas USA of Major League Soccer in fall of 2005. A very skillful player, Stovall also possesses great speed and has a knack for scoring goals.

Chris Klotz, Defender / Midfielder - Played with PDL Seahorses in 2005, and graduate of UC Irvine. Klotz is a strong defensive minded midfielder who has great tackling ability.

Daniel Benton, Goalkeeper - San Jose State graduate played for Virginia Beach Mariners in 2005 and PDL Seahorses in 2004. 6'4" frame with great athletic ability, and is outstanding in the air.

Simone Mariotti, Midfielder - A graduate of King's College in Tennessee, Mariotti is a very technical player who reads the game well.

Bruce Mottern, Goalkeeper - Oustanding stats at Queens University in Charlotte. Very good in the air.

Brent Stanze, Defender - Graduate of Saint Leo University and 1st Team All-Sunshine State Conference Pick. Strong tackler and very good in the air.

All Eagles fans are invited to meet the new 2006 team at Omega Sports at the Arboretum on Thursday, April 20th from 5-7pm. Fans will be able to get autographs and buy new 2006 Eagles merchandise before Opening Night as the merchandise will be unveiled at Omega Sports for the first time. The Eagles will open their season this Friday night at 7pm with a special championship celebration followed by kickoff at 7:30pm vs. the Cincinnati Kings.
