Charleston Battery to Participate in Cooper River Bridge Run

Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery has teamed up with the Cooper River Bridge Run and for a third year the Battery players will be assisting at the start of the race on Saturday morning. The players will then run as a team in the 10K race.

The Cooper River Bridge Run begins in Mount Pleasant, crosses the Cooper River to Charleston and finishes at Marion Square. In 2012 the race was won by Solomon Deksisa of Ethiopia in a time of 29minutes and 37 seconds; the race has been run annually in Charleston since 1978.

Following the race the Battery players will attend a post-race party at Molly Darcy's Traditional Irish Pub and Grill at 235 East Bay Street, Downtown Charleston.

Charleston Battery to broadcast all games live on Sports Radio 1450 AM

Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery will broadcast all of its USL PRO games live this season on Sports Radio1450 AM. This is the 15th year that the Battery has provided live radio coverage of its matches.

The first broadcast is set for Saturday, April 13 as the Battery takes on longtime rivals the Richmond Kickers in Richmond, VA; kick off is set for 7:00 PM.

The broadcast schedule is presented by the Angie Gainey Bailey Real Estate Team; in addition to live play-by play coverage each match will feature a pre-game show, half-time analysis and a post-game wrap-up.

Home games will also feature an extended post-game show with player interviews and analysis from Charleston Battery head coach Mike Anhaeuser.

Play by play duties will be handled by Andrew Bell with assistance from Dane Arlauckas. All games will also be available via an audio-only webcast via www.charlestonbattery.com.

Battery to open USL PRO season in Richmond, VA

The Charleston Battery will open the defense of its USL PRO championship in Richmond, VA with a match versus long-time rival the Richmond Kickers on Saturday, April 13; kick off is set for 7:00 PM.

The Charleston Battery home opener is set for Saturday, April 20 vs. Antigua Barracuda FC at Blackbaud Stadium. Gates open at 6 PM - kick off 7:30 PM ($10 - $18, 843-971-4625 / www.charlestonbattery.com).
