Charleston Battery Home Opener set for Friday, April 20

Charleston, SC. The 2007 USL First Division Schedule has been finalized, with a 28 game regular season for each of the 13 First Division Clubs. The Charleston Battery will open its campaign at Blackbaud Stadium on Friday April 20 with a match versus the Minnesota Thunder; kick off is set for 8:00 PM. 2007 is the Charleston Battery's 15th anniversary season and eighth at Blackbaud Stadium.

Friday Night Fireworks - Each of the Battery's three Friday night home games will feature a post-game Fireworks display; the Friday Night Fireworks dates are Home Opener on April 20, June 22 and the final home game of the regular season on September 7.

All Charleston Battery home matches are played at Blackbaud Stadium on Daniel Island. Opened in 1999, Blackbaud Stadium was the first privately financed soccer specific stadium in the United States. The state-of-the-art facility includes a host of fan-friendly features including the popular FUNZONE, an interactive children's playground.

The stadium also features the Three Lions Club, an English-style pub open exclusively to members on match days. The concourse includes numerous corporate tents available for party rental and a beer-garden that offers drink specials and occasional live music before the games.
