Charleston Battery Faces Harrisburg and Dayton

Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery takes on the Harrisburg City Islanders on Friday night in Harrisburg, PA; kick off is set for 7 PM. The match is the first of two USL PRO games the Battery will play this weekend; Charleston faces the Dayton Dutch Lions on Sunday evening at 7 PM in Dayton, OH.

Both games will be broadcast live on Sports Radio 1450 AM and will also be available via the live video stream at www.charlestonbattery.com. The official viewing parties for both games will be held at Molly Darcy's Irish pub located at 235 East Bay Street, downtown Charleston.

The Battery (0-4-2) enters the match versus Harrisburg still looking for its first win of the 2014 USL PRO season. Last week Charleston were held to a 0-0 tie with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and then fell 1-0 to the Rochester Rhinos in the second game of the back-to-back series.

The Harrisburg City Islanders (1-2-1) won their first game of the year last Saturday night with a 2-1 road win versus Sacramento Republic FC. The game was played in front of a USL PRO record crowd of 20,231. Harrisburg's goals were scored by Robbie Derschang and Morgan Langley.

In 2013 the Battery split a two-game series with Harrisburg winning 2-1 in Harrisburg in the first match on May 1 then dropping the return game at Blackbaud Stadium by the same scoreline on May 31.

The City Islanders advanced to the 2013 post-season but were eliminated by the Charlotte Eagles in the quarterfinal round.

Charleston Battery head coach Mike Anhaeuser should have a full squad to select from on for the games this week with both of his forwards, Dane Kelly and Mamadou Diouf returning to training after missing last week's matches through injury.

The Charleston Battery's next home game is on Saturday, May 10 versus the Wilmington Hammerheads; gates open at 6 PM with kick off set for 7:30 PM ($10 - $18, (843) 971-GOAL (4625) / www.charlestonbattery.com.
