Charleston Battery Announce 2024 Preseason Match Schedule

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Jan. 22, 2024) - The Charleston Battery announced Monday the club's 2024 preseason match schedule. Preparations for the Battery's 32nd season will include fixtures against college teams, USL League One clubs and MLS NEXT Pro sides from early February through early March.

CHARLESTON BATTERY ASSETS

Charleston open the slate with a closed-door friendly against Coastal Carolina University on Sat., Feb. 3.

The Battery hit the road on Fri., Feb. 9, to take on Greenville Triumph SC of USL League One in a closed-door contest.

Charleston's next three preseason matches are at home with tickets available to purchase now for $10. Season Members will have free admission to the games as a perk of their Membership. Only the West Grandstand will be open for seating.

On Sat., Feb. 17, at 7 p.m. ET, Charleston host League One finalists Charlotte Independence.

On Wed., Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. ET, the Battery then take on the College of Charleston.

On Sat., Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. ET, Charleston welcome Crown Legacy FC, the MLSNP affiliate of Charlotte FC, to Patriots Point.

Tickets for the matches against Charlotte, CofC and Crown Legacy can be purchased now via SeatGeek.com, the club's exclusive digital ticketing provider. Season Members will be able to claim their tickets to the games via their online Member portal on SeatGeek.

To conclude the preseason slate, Charleston travel to face South Georgia Tormenta FC on Sat., March 2, at 7 p.m. ET. The match is open to fans.

Head Coach Ben Pirmann is looking forward to the set of games to help the Battery prepare for their Eastern Conference title-defending campaign.

"We have a good balance of matches this preseason against quality college opponents and some of the best pro clubs in the Southeast," said Coach Pirmann. "For us, the preseason is all about getting better and these matches will provide those opportunities, as our opponents will challenge us in a variety of ways. We should have a lot of questions answered about who we are by the start of March."
