December 12, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Knoxville Thunderbolts News Release

Knoxville, TN. The Knoxville College Athletic Department Benefit, presented by the ABA Knoxville Thunderbolts, was a great success this week. A professional basketball game between the Knoxville Thunderbolts and the Tri-City Racers, a team that will be playing in the ABA next season, was held to help raise money for the athletic department, their facilities and their sports programs. The game was well attended and all of the Knoxville College community enjoyed an exciting, professional game. The Thunderbolts ended up winning with three players scoring 21 each - Gus Chase, Michael Blue and Alex Bowers. For more information, visit www.knoxvillethunderbolts.com or www.abalive.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
