Charge Name Blankenship Marketing Manager

Philadelphia, PA (April 2, 2002) - The Philadelphia Charge of the Women's United Soccer Association has named Jonathon Eric Blankenship the club's Marketing Manager.

Blankenship, a University of South Florida graduate, joins the Charge from Palace Sports & Entertainment, where he most recently served as an Event Marketing Manager for the Ice Palace in Tampa, FL for two years. Prior to holding that position, Blankenship served as a Marketing Coordinator for one year and Floor Manager for another at the Ice Palace.

Blankenship will handle all marketing efforts with the Charge, including advertising and promotions.

"Eric brings to us a wealth of experience," Charge General Manager Tim Murphy said. "We expect him to not only generate results for us, but to produce results for our partners and fans."

While serving as the Event Marketing Manager at the Ice Palace, Blankenship was responsible for implementing marketing plans for all non-sports related events, including concerts and family shows. He also executed and implemented promotional pieces, newsletters, media buying and coordinated advertising.

The Charge begin their 2002 campaign on Saturday, April 13 in Atlanta against the Beat starting at 7 p.m. The club then travels to New York to face the Power on Saturday, April 27 at 7 p.m., before making its home debut on Saturday, May 4 at 7 p.m. at Villanova Stadium against the Boston Breakers. The Charge's home opener will be Lorrie Fair bobblehead night courtesy if Got Milk, when the first 2,000 kids 14 and under will receive the collector's item.
