Channel Cats Win Home Opener

November 8, 2003 - South East Hockey League (SEHL) - Huntsville Channel Cats News Release

Huntsville, AL – The Huntsville Channels won their home opener 6-1 over the Cape Fear Fire Antz in front of 6,642 fans.

Allan Carr scored two goals and had one assist, while SEHL points leader, Dan Bucella, both scored two goals. James Patterson had one goal and three assists while Mike Degurse added one goal and one assist. Joel Bresciani and Jessi Otis both added two assists while Dan Kletke and Dave Cadarette both had one.

Matt Carmichael allowed only one goal and had 22 saves.

Mike Maurice scored the only goal for Cape Fear and Brett Naugle had an assist.

The Cats led 2-0 after the first period and extended the lead to 5-0 by the end of the second. Both teams scored one goal each in the third period.

The 6,642 fans was the largest crowd for a hockey game in the Von Braun Center.

The Channel Cats host Winston-Salem on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. All games start at 7:05.
