Channel Cats Put out Fire Antz

Huntsville Channel Cats News Release


Huntsville, AL – The Huntsville Channel Cats scored three goals in the third period on their way to a 5-1 win over the Cape Fear Fire Antz Thursday night.

James Patterson led the Cats with two goals and three assists, while Luke Phillips added two goals and Dan Buccella scored one. Allan Carr had three assists while Claude Amstutz scored one.

Jamie Muswagon scored the only goal for Cape Fear, while Ben Kwon an Joey Forte had the assist.

The game was tied 0-0 at the end of the first period. The Cats got goals from Buccella (:32) and Patterson (17:55) in the second and Muswagon (16:13) scored the Fire Antz goal in the second.

Phillips scored back-to-back goals at the 5:24 and 6:00 marks in the third before Patterson added his second with an empty netter at the 19:06 mark.

Channel Cats goalie, Matt Carmichael, stopped 35 Fire Antz shots.

The Channel Cats will host the Knoxville Ice Bears Saturday night at 7:05 and again on Thanksgiving night at 7:05.
