Sacramento, California; Toronto, Canada, October 29, 2004 – Broadcast coverage of Canadian Football League games expands into new regions of the United States with its newest agreement with Comcast SportsNet West, the premiere regional sports network in central California.

CFL games will air beginning the first week of November, as part of Comcast SportsNet West's regular programming, broadening a professional sports lineup that also includes the National Basketball Association's Sacramento Kings. The Comcast SportsNet West coverage area stretches from Visalia and Fresno to Modesto, Stockton, Sacramento and Chico. The network's coverage will be extended to the San Francisco Bay area in January.

"We are pleased to add the CFL to our programming line-up," said Mike Sheehey, Comcast SportsNet West's General Manager. "It is an exciting brand of football and we look forward to providing it to our viewers."

Comcast SportsNet West's broadcasts of CFL games were arranged by Trajectory Sports & Media Group, which has marketing responsibility for Canadian football coverage in the United States and internationally. The network joins Comcast SportsNet Chicago and Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, as well as local Comcast channels in Detroit and Atlanta which already carry CFL football as part of their sports programming.

"CFL football is very relevant to the new local Comcast SportsNet market in California because there are more than 20 CFL players with direct ties to the state," said Richard Stone, President of Trajectory Sports & Media Group. "With athletes either playing college football or growing up in the region, this coverage gives their families and friends a great opportunity to get into the game and watch their own hometown football heroes."

Several hundred U.S. players from top football conferences around the country – including Big Sky (Sacramento State), WAC (Fresno State) and the Pac 10 (Stanford and UC Berkeley) – are currently members of CFL teams. NFL stars such as Doug Flutie, Warren Moon and Jeff Garcia formally played for the Canadian Football League.

Other networks carrying CFL action as the result of Trajectory Sports & Media Group coverage agreements are America One Sports, Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast, Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, Comcast Detroit, New England Sports Network, Madison Square Garden, Empire Sports, Cox Sports TV, Altitude Sports & Entertainment, Fox Sports Middle East, and the North American Sports Network.
