
CFL names players of the week

Toronto, ON - (November 21, 2007) - The Canadian Football League (CFL) announced today the Rogers Players of Week for the East and West Finals.
Rogers Players of the Week are selected for on-field excellence by members of the Canadian football broadcasters.
Offensive Player of the Week
QB - Kerry Joseph - Saskatchewan Roughriders
Saskatchewan Roughriders 26 @ BC Lions 17
Highlights / Key Stats:
Saskatchewan quarterback Kerry Joseph led the Roughriders to their first Grey Cup berth since 1997 with a gutsy performance. Joseph completed 18 of 35 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns. He also added 43 yards rushing on five carries. In the first quarter, Joseph tossed a 13-yard touchdown pass for the first score of the game, silencing the BC faithful.

DE - Cameron Wake - BC Lions

Highlights / Key Stats:
B.C. defensive end Cameron Wake did everything he could to keep the Lions' season alive. In his first career playoff game, Wake set a new CFL post-season record with five quarterback sacks for a loss of 28-yards, totaling six tackles. He also forced a fumble. The previous record for quarterback sacks in a post-season game was four, shared by Tony Norman (1984), Grover Covington (1985) and Stu Laird (1987).

RB - Keith Stokes - Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Highlights / Key Stats:
Winnipeg Blue Bombers running back Keith Stokes was a true stand-out in the East Final. Stokes fielded nine punts for an average of 16.2-yards per return and two kickoffs for an average of 19-yards per return. In the third quarter with the Bombers leading 12-1, Stokes took a Toronto punt up the middle of the field for an 81-yard touchdown which proved to be the game-winner.

Highlights / Key Stats:
In his fourth post-season appearance, Saskatchewan Roughriders slotback Andy Fantuz continued his excellent play. Fantuz caught six passes for 66-yards and his first career post-season touchdown. Early in the first quarter, Fantuz caught a 13-yard touchdown pass for the first score of the game. In four post-season appearances, Fantuz has recorded 16 receptions for 246 yards and one touchdown.
