Published on May 27, 2010 under Canadian Football League (CFL) News Release
Toronto, ON - (May 27, 2010) - Who says you can't win the Grey Cup in June?
Fans who buy tickets to the best match-ups of the 2010 season when single game tickets are on sale June 1st get the chance to win the Ultimate Grey Cup Experience, including great seats to the big game, tickets to special events and behind-the-scenes access.
"Our single game ticket launch is yet another exciting sign that another great Canadian Football League season is about to begin," said CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon.
"It's an opportunity to get good seats at affordable prices for the games you most want to see in person, including those that have become fan favourites, from our teams' home openers to the Labour Day classics to the Thanksgiving Day match-ups that mark the stretch run to the playoffs and the Grey Cup."
Fans who buy their single game tickets before June 8th not only get a chance to win a trip to the 98th Grey Cup game in Edmonton.
Every CFL Team is offering great prizes as part of the CFL Fan Draft that accompanies the single game ticket launch. Those include additional game tickets, sideline access, a chance to meet their favourite players, and, courtesy of Reebok and Roger Edwards, a swag bag featuring CFL Retro gear celebrating the 1970s.
Single game tickets for all CFL games are on sale to the general public Tuesday, June 1st at 10 a.m., one day before rookies report to training camp, a week before veterans join them, and a month before the regular season begins with the RONA Canada Day Kickoff, the weekend of July 1-3.
Fans can get more information at CFL.ca/Tickets. As of 10:00am local time on June 1st, fans can buy tickets from their local clubs, through CFL.ca, or by calling 1-866-993-4CFL (4235) or 1-888-LCF-MATCH (523-6282).
Tickets for CFL games are priced affordably starting at $20, depending on the market.
RONA Canada Day Kickoff features four games over three days: The 2010 CFL regular season opener features a Grey Cup rematch with the Montreal Alouettes visiting the Saskatchewan Roughriders at 7:00 p.m. ET on Canada Day July 1st, and will be immediately followed at 10 p.m. ET by the Toronto Argonauts playing the Stampeders in Calgary. Friday Night Football on July 2 features the Winnipeg Blue Bombers hosting the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at 8:00 p.m. ET. And the opening weekend of the CFL season concludes Sunday, July 4 with the B.C. Lions visiting the Edmonton Eskimos at 7:00 p.m. ET, with all games broadcast on TSN.
This marks the second year the CFL's teams have come together to offer single game tickets at the same time to fans across the country.
"We're coming off of one of the most successful and exciting Grey Cups ever, and 2010 promises to be tremendous fun," Cohon said.
"We look forward to sharing it with our fans, from coast to coast, and seeing them at our stadiums."
