
CFL Announces Player Fines

TORONTO - The Canadian Football League announced today that it has fined Saskatchewan Roughriders defensive back Carlos Thomas for leaving his feet and launching himself in an attempt to tackle Edmonton Eskimo quarterback Mike Reilly. As a result, there was direct contact from his helmet and forearm to Reilly's facemask and head.
Thomas was also penalized for unnecessary roughness on the play.
As per league policy, the amount of the fine was not disclosed.
