The Danbury Westerners, the longest tenured team in the New England Collegiate Baseball League, announced that former New York Yankee and author Jim Bouton will be their special speaker for their 18th Annual Celebrity Breakfast on June 8th at the Amber Room Colonnade in Danbury, CT. The Breakfast welcomes members of the 2012 Danbury Westerners to the greater Western CT community, and Mr. Bouton is sure to thrill Westerners fans with stories about his days in the major leagues.
Paul Schaffer, President of the Danbury Westerners, commented, "I am personally excited that Jim Bouton has agreed to speak at our annual Breakfast as he has had a remarkable life both in and out of baseball. Bouton enjoyed enormous success as a pitcher for the Yankees, and his book Ball Four is a must-read for all baseball fans. He is an articulate and entertaining personality whom I am sure our guests will enjoy immensely."
