CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA - The Cedar Rapids River Kings have signed quarterback Ben Wilkerson to its 2019 roster.
Wilkerson (6'3", 220) is a European Football veteran, having played three seasons overseas. He's played for the Finnish Maple League's Seinäjoki Crocodiles, and the German Football League's Munich Cowboys and the Franken Knights. Of the 35 games he played in Europe, Wilkerson started in all 35.
Coming out of college, Wilkerson appeared in 14 games in two seasons as the quarterback of the Alfred State Pioneers in Alfred, New York. His senior season he was named 2nd team All-USCAA, passing for 1,212 yards and nine touchdowns, playing in just eight games.
Also as a senior, Wilkerson averaged 151.5 yards per game, completing 55.6% of his throws. As a junior he had a completion percentage of 52.3%.
He was a preseason All-American and invited to the Division III Senior Scout Bowl. Wilkerson joined the Knights after he graduated from Alfred State in 2016.
Wilkerson is originally from Buffalo, New York, and attended Fayette-Ware High School in Somerville, Tennessee.
