CBMS Sports and Entertainment to hold ABA Youth Camps

November 26, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Patchogue, NY. CBMS Sports and Entertainment, Inc. has announced an agreement with the American Basketball Association (ABA) for the rights to use the ABA name and logo worldwide in conjunction with its youth camps and clinics.

"We are proud to have the ABA name to implement our youth programs which will include all our Youth Camps and Clinics," said Michele Wuestman, President of CBMS Sports and Entertainment and co-owner of the ABA Strong Island Sound. "The great history associated with the ABA will continue into the next generation with CBMS Sports and Entertainment's agreement with the league," continued Wuestman. "Having the opportunity to be connected with the ABA in these programs will benefit not only the Strong Island Sound, but the entire league and communities all over as well."

The ABA Youth Programs will be more than a basketball school. The youngsters attending will be learning life lessons in addition to dribbling and passing. "They will be getting the message of life that will not only make them better athletes, but also learn better ethics and sportsmanship and how to be better people through sports," said Joe Newman, ABA CEO.

The message from this program will be given by not only the professional athletes from the various ABA teams, but also the former NBA and WNBA players that are associated with the league, such as Dennis Scott (Atlanta Vision), Teresa Weatherspoon (Westchester Phantoms) and Orlando Woolridge (Houston Takers) and many others. In addition, the camps will also include local leaders, public figures and teachers who will be joining the staff to convey their positive image. "There will be a wide variety of quality of life programs all built around sports," Newman added. "And the camps will be affordable just as our games are." Newman further said that there will be a special ABA Youth Camp page added to the official league website shortly, www.abalive.com.

The ABA Youth Camp program is currently looking for local businesses for sponsorship in this unique program. These sponsorships will offer scholarships for underprivileged youths that cannot afford the entry fee. The businesses will have the opportunity to become associated with the ABA through the camps and clinics as well as the individual teams that will be a part of the program.

Throughout the season, the Strong Island Sound held numerous youth camps and clinics that were extremely successful. With the league-wide association and the ABA name attached to these programs and others being planned worldwide, Wuestman is excited about how far it can go.

"Our entire organization is looking forward to this opportunity and we anticipate a positive response from our existing fan base and clientele," she said. "To now have the chance to do this in other communities will be special."
