CBA announces playoff format

March 6, 2008 - Continental Basketball Association 1 (CBA 1) News Release


ALBANY, NY (March 6, 2008) The Continental Basketball Association announced today the playoff format and participants for the 2007-08 CBA Playoffs. The CBA Playoffs will be contested by five teams as they all battle to capture the CBA championship.

In the American Conference, the top three teams will advance to the playoffs. The East Kentucky Miners will face the Pittsburgh Xplosion on March 11 in Pittsburgh in a one game play-in game. Game time will be 7:05 PM. The winner of that contest will then host the American Conference Regular Season Champion Minot Skyrockets in the first game of a three game series. The remaining two games will take place in Minot. The dates and times of those contests will be announced at a later date when the winner of the play-in game is determined.

In the National Conference, both the Yakama Sun Kings and the Oklahoma Cavalry have clinched playoff spots. They will play a three game conference series to determine the champion of the National Conference. The first game will take place in Oklahoma on March 11. The Sun Kings will host the Cavalry on March 14 and if necessary March 17.

The conference champions will then face each other in the CBA Finals. The format will be a five-game series. The first two games will take place at the lower seed with the remaining games taking place at the higher seeds arena.

All dates and start times for the CBA Playoffs will be published as they become available.
