Tri-City Diesel News Release

The Tri-City Diesel's offensive struggles continued as the Wyoming Cavalry came into town and took home a 41-23 victory.

The Cavalry struck first early in the first quarter, the Diesel were able to answer to tie the score at seven but it was a one-sided battle after that as Wyoming scored 27 unanswered points. The Diesel were able to add two touchdowns late in the fourth but it was too little too late.

The Diesel offense gained 142 total yards compared to the Cavalry's 217. Diesel quarterback Roger Linn completed 12 of 30 passes for 88 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. Greg Lathan caught two of the touchdowns with Kevin Rhaburn pulling in the other one, Sherman Jones and Tyrone Thomas each had four catches.

Brian Smith led the Diesel defense with nine tackles including a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Luke Kucera and Adrian Watson each had five tackles and one sack also. John English picked up the Diesel's only interception of the game.

The Diesel return to the road for the next two weeks as they visit the Sioux City Bandits next Saturday. They return home May 3rd when St. Louis comes to town. Tickets may be picked up at the Tri-City Arena box office or by calling (308) 338-801.
