Cavalry Gains Ground In Standings

A strong weekend effort on the road has helped the Lone Star Cavalry gain ground in the South Division standings.

On Thursday night, the Cavalry downed the Springfield Spirit 3-1 and then followed up that effort with a 4-2 victory over the Spirit Friday night. The Cavalry ran out of gas on Saturday when they were defeated 3-1 by the Texarkana Bandits at the conclusion of their road trip.

Kirk Golden led the Cavalry on Thursday night when he registered a hat trick against the Spirit. Cody Chupp and Zach Tesar each chipped in two assists in the game. Ryan Hatch was solid between the pipes for the Cavalry and picked up the win.

A balanced scoring attack on Friday night helped the Cavalry to their win over the Spirit. Eric Dahlberg, Tim Hartung, Bryan Plaszcz and Jared Brown each had a goal each for the Cavalry. Tim Hartung finished with three points on the game, as did Zach Tesar with three assists. Ryan Hatch was once again solid in goal for the Cavalry and picked up the win.

In Saturday's defeat at the hands of Texarkana, Tim Hartung registered Lone Star's only goal. Ryan Hatch suffered the loss for the Cavalry.
