
Cavalry Arrests Bandits

The Lone Star Cavalry put in another strong effort Saturday as they downed the visiting Texarkana Bandits 3-1 before 672 fans at Blue Line Ice Complex.
Ryan Hatch played another solid game in goal and blocked 25 of the 26 Texarkana shots that he faced. Nick Laird opened the scoring for the Cavalry at the 6:16 mark of the second period with assists from Jared Brown and Bert van de Braak.
Jared Brown put the Cavalry ahead by a score of 2-0 when he connected on a goal at 11:39 of the third period from Bryan Plaszcz and Bert van de Braak. Texarkana got on the board at 13:19 of the third period on a goal by Josh Leonard, but Lone Star would put the game away when Kirk Golden scored at 19:24 to seal the victory.
Cody Chupp and Tim Hartung chipped in assists on the Golden goal. Ryan Hatch got the win in goal for the Cavalry, while Riley Gill took the loss for Texarkana.
