Cats fall to Ice Bears in OT

February 14, 2004 - South East Hockey League (SEHL) - Huntsville Channel Cats News Release


Huntsville, AL – Alex Alepin scored eight seconds into overtime lifting the Knoxville Ice Bears to a 3-2 win over the Huntsville Channel Cats Friday night.

Knoxville led 1-0 after two periods and 2-1 with :34 left in the third before James Patterson scored to tie the game.

Todd MacIssac scored the first Knoxville goal at the 10:28 mark in the first period. Jessi Otis tied the game 1:08 into the third period. Tom McMonagle gave the Ice Bears the 2-1 lead at the 12:45 mark.

McMonagle and Craig Desjarlais added two assists while K.J. Vorhees added one. Allan Carr had two assists for the Channel Cats while Mike Degurse added one.

Adam Barbour got the win for the Ice Bears stopping 42 shots. Matt Carmichael took the loss stopping 35 shots.

Two of Knoxville’s three goals came on power plays while the Cats scored one power play goal.

The Channel Cats are now 13-5 against Knoxville this season. The two teams meet again tomorrow night in Knoxville and Monday night in Huntsville.
