
Cats add Reynolds for playoff run

HUNTSVILLE, AL â The Huntsville Channel Cats added former Channel Cat and Tornado forward, Derek Reynolds, to the roster just in time for the final run before the playoffs.
Reynolds played in five regular season and five playoff games with the Cats in 1999-2000. He scored one and goal and had one assist in the regular season and two goals in the playoffs. He was named Central Hockey League Rookie of the Year in 2000-01 as a member of the Tornado. He played in 68 games and scored 22 goals and 31 assists. He also had 253 penalty minutes.
He played in eight games with the San Diego Gulls of the WCHL. He played in 15 games with the El Paso Buzzards and 39 with the Wichita Thunder both of the CHL in 2002-03. He played in 42 games with the Tulsa Oilers of the CHL earlier this season.
He has played in 176 games, scored 41 goals and 59 assists for 100 points and amassed 455 penalty minutes in his professional career.
Reynolds was a teammate of Cats forward, Allan Carr, at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He played in 102 games from 1997-2000 and scored 19 goals and had 44 assists. He also played in 109 games of junior hockey with the North Battlefield North Stars (1994-95) and the Lincoln Stars (1996-97). He scored 55 goals and had 77 assists. He amassed 657 penalty minutes. He is originally from North Battlefield, Saskatchewan.
The Channel Cats placed forward, Dave Cadarette, on season-ending injured reserve.
