Rockford Thunder News Release

Thunder Fans,

Since, the end of the season I went back home to Brandon, Florida. I've kept my-self very busy: I've spent time with my friends, played with my kitty, his name is Weezy, applied for grad school at UCF, and I went the ALCS, ALDS and World Series after the Rays won American League East.

Shortly after I got home from Rockford I started working for the 2008 American League Champions, the Tampa Bay Rays. I do a lot of the external marketing in all parts of Tampa, St. Petersburg and Port Charlotte [the new spring training facility for the Rays]. It's the best job for me because I get to be out in the community and work in sports.

In early November, I attended the second annual alumni game at UCF, which ended in a tie, but I had a lot of fun hanging out with my old teammates and the past alumni. Furthermore, I was very impressed with 2009 team, in fact, contrary to many polls, I think this year's team will surpass last years and make it to super regionals. I am really looking forward to watching them make history for our program.

With softball the season just months away I've started to hit the gym and see a personal trainer. Two of the days I spend running, whereas, the other days are spend lifting and doing agilities. I've found it very tough to motivate myself to go to the gym, so I am very lucky to have someone like Larry [my trainer] to push me to do better. He tells me I can't give up or he will give me a pacifier, because I am being a baby. It's great to have someone push you like that because I will only make me better.

I am really looking forward to the upcoming season with Rockford. We have brought in great players that will make a huge impact on our 2009 team. Additionally, I am excited to see the renovated field and call Roscoe home.

Go Thunder,

Allison Kime #10
