Cataractes' Lepage Suspended Five Games
October 17, 2019 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) News Release
Quebec City, QC - The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced today that Shawinigan Cataractes defenseman, Jordan Lepage, has been suspended for five (5) games for a hit to the head.
The rationale
As he wanted to close the game at the entrance of his territory, the Cataractes player (#5 - Jordan Lepage) changed direction to skate forward and hit his opponent with his raised elbow, reaching the Remparts player (#20 - Andrew Coxhead) in the face.
The player performing a north-south hit must understand that he exposes himself and must ensure that he does it the right way, targeting the shoulders or the chest at all times.
Therefore, for the incident on Monday and considering that the player is a repeat offender, the QMJHL Department of Player Safety imposed a 5-game suspension to #5 Jordan Lepage of the Shawinigan Cataractes.
