Casper, WY - The Casper Rockies Professional Baseball Club is pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached to extend the current player development agreement with the Colorado Rockies for an additional two years. The current two-year agreement was up for renewal following the 2006 season, so with the extension the Colorado Rockies will continue to send their top prospects to Casper through the 2008 Pioneer League season.

Fans in Casper will continue to see outstanding players honing their skills at Mike Lansing Field such as 2002 Pioneer League MVP Ryan Shealy, 2003 Pioneer League Top Prospect and All Star Ian Stewart, and pitching phenom Juan Morrillo just to name a few.

"We are very pleased to continue our partnership with the Colorado Rockies," said Danny Tetzlaff, President and General Manager of the Casper Rockies. "With several former Casper players matriculating to the major leagues, we look forward to developing the future stars for the Colorado Rockies. The front office staff for Colorado has been fantastic to work with and we couldn't ask to be associated with a more professional organization."

"We are very pleased with the partnership," said Colorado Rockies Director of Player Development Marc Gustafson. "The community and front office are great to work with and we are looking forward to continuing this partnership for many years to come."

The Casper Rockies are the Pioneer League affiliate (Advanced Rookie) of the Colorado Rockies and play a 76 game schedule from Mid-June until September. All home games are played at Mike Lansing Field. For more information, contact the Casper Rockies office at (307) 232-1111.
