Casper, WY - The Casper Rockies Professional Baseball Club has announced their pitching coach for the 2007 season. The Colorado Rockies Pioneer League affiliate's pitching staff will be led by Eduardo Villacis, taking over for 2006 coach Mark Thompson. The 27-year-old began his career as a Rockie, signing with the club out of Venezuela in 1998. The right-hander pitched in Colorado's minor league system for 6 seasons before he was traded in 2004 to the Kansas City Royals. He later spent some time in the Chicago White Sox system, and also with the Bridgeport Bluefish of the Atlantic League. In 9 minor league seasons, Villacias compiled a 41-20 record with a 3.31 ERA in 187 games/ 70 starts.
