Casper, Wyoming October 23, 2008- The accolades keep coming in for the Casper Ghosts makeover. The Casper Ghosts are the Pioneer League affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. Ballpark Digest has awarded the Ghosts with the Best New Hat Design of the Year. The award is especially meaningful for the Ghosts considering Ballpark Digest's tremendous reputation within the baseball community. The Ghosts became the first and only team in pro baseball to feature a glow in the dark hat.
The Ghosts, formerly the Casper Rockies, came into existence on Halloween 2007. Ghosts CEO Kevin Haughian felt the team needed a fresh new identity and worked with Plan B Branding of San Diego to create the enormously popular new look.
"Most of the credit should go to our designer, Plan B Branding (San Diego)," says Kevin Haughian, "All three of our hats (home, road, alternate) have been incredibly popular thus far and our merchandise sales are up six fold from previous years. Although we have yet to advertise our new souvenirs, a real underground buzz has developed and our phone and Internet sales continue to grow. I'm not sure why, but the most interest has come from big cities around the country and from action sports enthusiasts."
The Ghosts new merchandise has proved to be so popular the team is planning on releasing holiday apparel in mid November and is even planning a new separate website to handle the increased demand for these items.
Three colors/versions of the glow-in-the-dark cap can be found on the Casper Ghost's Web site, www.capserghosts.com, and sell for $26 plus shipping and handling. The Ghosts also take phone orders at (307) 232-111.
