
Carmichael named SPHL Sher-wood Hockey Player of the Week

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Huntsville Havoc goaltender Matt Carmichael has been named the SPHL Sher-wood Hockey Player of the Week.
Carmichael went 3-0 on the week beating the Fayetteville FireAntz 3-2 in a shootout on Thursday. He stopped all four Fayetteville attempts. He then beat the first-place Knoxville Ice Bears on consecutive nights, 2-1 in overtime on Saturday and 5-1 on Sunday. He faced 110 shots and recorded 106 saves for a 98% save percentage and a 1.27 goal against average.
The Ottawa, Ontario native leads the SPHL with a 2.62 goals against average and a 92.4 save percentage. He is fourth in wins despite missing five weeks with a groin injury.
