Medford Rogues News Release
MEDFORD, Ore. - The Rogues started hot when centerfielder Cole Carder (Antelope Valley) tripled to lead off the game, and then left fielder Josh McIntyre went yard for the second time in as many games. But four errors by the Rogues were eventually their undoing, as they fell to the Klamath Falls Gems, 7-5.
862 were on hand to witness another gorgeous sunset at Harry & David Field, a by-product of the summer storm that nearly soaked the field just a couple hours before the game. Exceptionally hard work by the Rogues gameday staff and excellent direction and planning by Rogues COO Dave May got the field and stands ready for first pitch just 4 minutes and 30 seconds after the original start time of 6:35pm.
Carder brought the Rogues to within a run in the fifth inning when he singled home third baseman Tommy Ahlstrom (Simpson University) and second baseman Riley Way (Lewis-Clark State), but the Rogues gave the two runs right back to the Gems in the eighth.
The Rogues will embark on a nine-game road trip starting tomorrow before returning home on Friday, June 29th against the Chico Heat. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a FREE Rowdy Championship Bobblehead, presented by Rogue Credit Union. That Friday will also be a double-header to make up for the rain out on June 17th. The purchase of one Friday ticket is good for both games.
Tickets for every home game this season are available for purchase online at MedfordRogues.com.
