Lake County Captains News Release


(Burlington, IA)- Brian Heere finished a career night with an RBI single in the top of the twelfth inning scoring Carlos Moncrief as Lake County defeated Burlington 10-9. Heere finished the night 5-for-7 with two RBI.

The Captains sent nine hitters to the plate in the first inning, scoring five time take an early 5-0 lead.

Ronny Rodriguez added a two run triple in the second inning to make it 7-0 Lake County. Rodriguez finished the night 3-for-5 with 3RBI. Aaron Fields drove in his second run of the game to put the Captains up 8-0 after two.

The Bees trailing 9-0, heading into the fourth inning, got on the board with a two-run homerun from Josh Whitaker to make it 9-2.

Burlington chipped away at Lake County's lead scoring runs in the fifth, seventh and eighth eventually tying the game at nine.

JD Reichenbach (5-1) picked up the win working two scoreless innings in relief, allowing just one hit and striking out two. Daniel Tenholder (3-3) took the loss allowing the winning run in the 12th inning.

Lake County returns home to start a nine game home stand on Wednesday night against Quad Cities at Classic Park beginning at 7:00PM.
