YESTERDAY: The Captains allowed a season-high nine runs and a season-high 14 hits in a 9-0 loss to the Loons, pushing Lake County's season-long losing streak to five games. The Loons broke the game open with an eight-run sixth inning, the most runs allowed by the Captains in a single inning this year.

RUN-SCORING STRUGGLES: The Captains have not scored more than two runs in their last six games, averaging 1.5 runs per game. Lake County has been outscored 31-9 in those six contests. The Captains have scored two runs or fewer in 11 of 18 games.

SPEED DEMONS: The Captains boast two of the fastest players in the Indians' organization in Gabriel Mejia and Todd Isaacs. Both are rated as 80-grade runners on the 20-80 scale. Mejia is regarded as the fastest runner in the Indians' organization, while Isaacs was ranked by Baseball America as the Indians' fastest runner last year. Isaacs currently has the second-most steals in all of Class-A with nine. He is also second to Dayton's Jose Siri for the league lead in wSB at 1.4 according to Fangraphs.

CATCHERS CRUSHING: Li-Jen Chu is off to a roaring start with the bat. He leads all Midwest League catchers in OBP with a .456mark and is second in the league overall. Meanwhile, Logan Ice is first among MWL catchers with a 1.20 BB/K ratio.

RUN DIFFERENTIAL: The Captains have fallen to ninth in the Midwest League in run differential at -4 (69 R, 73 RA). Lake County has a "minus" run differential for the first time since before their 17-5 win over Lansing on April 15. They trail Quad Cities at +38 (105 R, 67 RA), Kane County at +22 (74 R, 52 RA), South Bend at +17 (91 R, 74 RA), West Michigan at +11 (66 R, 55 RA), Beloit +8 (79 R, 71 RA), Cedar Rapids at +6 (71 R, 65 RA), Dayton at +3 (95 R, 92 RA) and Great Lakes at -2 (88 R, 90 RA).

TURN TWO: The Captains' defense has turned the most double plays in the Midwest League with 17. Luke Wakamatsu leads all MWL shortstops with 13 double plays turned.

PROUD ALUMNI: The Captains' roster features three players who attended colleges that checked in on Baseball America's latest Top 25 list. Logan Ice's Oregon State squad ranks #1 in the nation. Ryder Ryan's University of North Carolina Tar Heels are ranked #3 and Justin Garza's Cal State Fullerton team is listed as the #14 team in the country.

CATCHERS CHALLENGED: The Midwest League has attempted to run more against Logan Ice than any other catcher this year. So far, 28 runners have taken off against Ice. The Captains' catcher has caught nine would-be base-stealers for a .321 CS% that places him eighth in the MWL. Micah Miniard is tied for the league-lead in steal attempts against for a pitcher with eight. Three of those men have been caught for a .375 CS%.

CAPTAINS TOP PROSPECTS: The Captains' Opening Day roster features eight players in the Indians' Top 30 Prospects, according to MLB.com: #5 LHP Brady Aiken, #12 LHP Juan Hillman, #16 RHP Shane Bieber, #20 OF Gabriel Mejia, #21 RHP Aaron Civale, #22 C Logan Ice, #29 RHP Micah Miniard and #30 OF Conner Capel.
