Erie Otters News Release

Erie, Pennsylvania - After a handful of games at the professional level, Otters' Captain Daniel D'Amato has been recalled back to the Erie Otters.

An overage-Forward for Erie, D'Amato was called up to the American Hockey League's Henderson Silver Knights (AHL, Vegas Golden Knights) on November 10. This opportunity at the professional level came for D'Amato after spending time in both Vegas' (Rookie & Main) and Henderson's Training Camps during the preseason. The 20-year-old Maple, ON native was a noted standout during the Camps from Silver Knights' head coach Emanuel Viveiros.

During his time in the AHL - wearing the #78 - D'Amato appeared in five games with the Silver Knights. The last three of the bunch saw D'Amato score his first professional point on an assist, another assist the next game, and in his final game with Henderson, his first professional goal. D'Amato would finish his five-game AHL-stint with a three-game scoring streak, three points (1G+2A) overall, and a +1.

D'Amato was officially announced back to the team at a Season Ticket Holder exclusive event held at the Erie Insurance Arena on Tuesday night. The event served as a casual meet-and-greet for fans and corporate partners with the Coaching Staff and Front Office, with D'Amato being a surprise guest-of-honor for those in attendance.

With his return, D'Amato will be able to play in the traditional Thanksgiving Night Game with the Otters - the third and final of his career. Erie hosts the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Thursday night at 7 P.M. for the contest.

This year celebrates the 46th Annual Thanksgiving Game in Erie hockey history, debuting on Thanksgiving 1975 with the Erie Blades.
