
Canton Runs Past Fort Wayne for Sixth-Straight Win

The Canton Charge extended their season-high winning streak to six in a 106-87 victory over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in front at the Civic Center on Wednesday night. Canton is now 25-18 and maintains first place in the East Conference with seven games left to play. The loss was Fort Wayne's sixth-straight and dropped them to 11-32 on the year.
After Canton jumped out to an early 29-15 lead in the first quarter, Fort Wayne responded by going 14-of-22 from the floor in the second, outscoring Canton 33-17. Charles Garcia scored 10 in the second quarter on 5-of-5 shooting as the Mad Ants held a 48-46 advantage at the intermission.
The Charge regrouped during the break and came out in the third to shoot an efficient 11-of-18 from the floor for 61% and gained a 78-66 lead that they would never relinquish. Alan Anderson had 12 of his game-high 24 points in the third to lead Canton. All in all, the Charge outscored the Mad Ants 60-39 in the second half and outshot them 60% to 41%. Canton holds the edge in the season series 4-2 with one meeting left this year on April 4th.
Luke Harangody notched his sixth double-double of the season in nine games played by netting 20 points and grabbing 15 boards with one block and one steal in 38 minutes. Dante Milligan provided 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting with eight rebounds, four blocks and two steals in 31 minutes. Quinton Ross had season-highs in points and steals with 14 and two respectively along with five rebounds in 35 minutes.
Garcia led Fort Wayne with 20 points and nine rebounds in 27 minutes of play. Vernon Macklin added 14 points with 13 rebounds and seven turnovers in 32 minutes. Cameron Jones supplied 11 points and four rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench. The Mad Ants committed a Charge opponent season-high 25 turnovers that resulted in 34 points for the home team.
The Charge have won 15 out of their last 19 games and are 8-1 since the All-Star break. Canton will hit the road for a short two-game road swing starting tomorrow night in Erie as they take on the BayHawks at 7:00 p.m.
