Canton Legends News Release

February 14, 2005 -- The Canton Legends of the Atlantic Indoor Football League have named Todd Bartley as the team's play-by-play announcer.

Bartley, a native of Minerva, OH, is Sports Director at WNPQ-FM (95.9) as well as co-host of "In The Huddle", a weekly local sports talk show originating from Mallonn's Grille with Todd Porter of The Canton Repository.

Bartley was a sports anchor at WKNR-TV in Cleveland in 1997, where he covered the World Series and hosted the "Tenth Inning Show".

Since returning to Canton, Bartley has established WNPQ as a station with strong local ties, especially to the local sports community.

He has called radio and television play-by-play at nearly every level from high school to professional. His resume includes play-by-play with the Kinston Indians; Mount Olive, Thiel, Malone and Mount Union Colleges, as well as over 500 high school broadcasts.

"It is an honor for me to be the voice of the Canton Legends in their inaugural season," said Bartley. "I look forward to working alongside Jay Brophy and Jim Ballard again, who are great professionals."

"My intention within the broadcast is to put the fan within the play and to make them feel as if they are throwing or catching the ball or making the big hit defensively."

"Having worked with the team at the combine, the speed of the game is unreal," he said. "It should be an awesome season, culminating with the Canton Legends winning the first-ever AIFL Championship Game."

The Atlantic Indoor Football League is the hottest new professional football league and will kickoff its inaugural season April 16, 2005.
