Cannons Trade for McElduff

Boston, MA (April 27, 2007) - The Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) announced today they acquired defenseman Stephen McElduff from the San Francisco Dragons. In exchange Boston sent its second round 2007 MLL Collegiate Draft choice and its first round 2008 MLL Supplemental Draft choice to San Francisco.
"Stephen is a very solid defenseman, someone who will help us out a great deal," said Bill Daye, Cannons head coach. "He had a strong season with the Dragons in 2006 and we're looking for Stephen to be a big contributor for our team this season."
McElduff was an MLL rookie in 2006 for the Dragons. He played in seven games and recorded 12 groundballs. He also connected on a two-point goal in the MLL semi-finals against the Denver Outlaws.
McElduff is a 2006 North Carolina graduate. He was a two-time All-American with the Tar Heels. He started every game in his UNC but one.
McElduff will be at training camp this weekend for the Cannons. Cannons training camp runs 6PM-8PM on Saturday April 28 and 9AM-11AM on Sunday April 29, with all practices taking place at Harvard University. Training camp is open to the media and public.
The Cannons open their 2007 season at the Washington Bayhawks on May 12. Boston's home opener is Saturday May 19 against the defending MLL champion Philadelphia Barrage.
