Cannons Hold Second Weekend Of Training Camp

Boston, MA (April 27, 2007) - The Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) hold the second weekend of their 2007 training camp this Saturday April 28 and Sunday April 29. Saturday's practice occurs from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Jordan Field. Sunday's practice takes place from 9:00AM-11:00AM at Harvard Stadium. Training camp practices are open to the media and public.
The Cannons opened training camp on Saturday April 21 at Harvard University. Cannons players worked through conditioning, skills and full field drills.
"I was very happy with our first weekend of camp," said Bill Daye, Cannons head coach. "We certainly have a lot more work to do to be ready to start the season. These practices are very important. I'm looking forward to another spirited weekend at camp."
Thirty-five players are invited to training camp. Boston must reduce its roster to 23 active players and three practice squad players by the end of training camp.
The Cannons held Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Day in conjunction with training camp last Saturday. Over 400 fans attended. Season ticket holders were given the opportunity to mingle with players, take a tour of their new seats at Harvard Stadium and attend the Harvard Women's and Men's lacrosse games that afternoon. Season ticket holders were also treated to a catered lunch from Qdoba, the Official Family Restaurant of the Boston Cannons.
"Season ticket holder appreciation day was a great success," said Jason Chandler, Cannons general Manager. "We're glad fans had the opportunity to take in our new venue and spend some time with our players. We encourage all of our fans to attend Harvard's home game against Yale this Saturday at 2:00PM and then come check out practice at 6:00PM."

The Cannons open their 2007 season at the Washington Bayhawks on May 12. Boston's home opener is Saturday May 19 against the defending MLL champion Philadelphia Barrage.
