
Cannons Midfielder Paul Rabil Earns MLL Player of the Week Honors

BOSTON, MA - Midfielder Paul Rabil has been named the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced today. Rabil tied a season and career high with 7 points in leading the Cannons to a 15-12 come from behind victory over the Denver Outlaws.
Rabil scored three goals, including a two-point marker, and added three assists to lead the Cannons to their fifth straight win on Sunday night at INVESCO Field at Mile High. Rabil, who was named the Bud Light Player of the Game, scored two of his goals in the second half as the Cannons overcame a 7-3 halftime deficit to take sole possession of first place in the the MLL standings.
The MLL's leading scorer with 33 points, Rabil is also tied for the league lead with 18 goals and is tied for second in the MLL with 13 assists. He has tallied 18 points in the last three games, recording at least five points in each outing.
Rabil earned the Offensive Player of the Week award for the second time this year. He received the honor on June 6 after leading the Cannons to a victory over the Bayhawks at Harvard Stadium.
"Paul has taken his game to another level this season," said Cannons Head Coach Bill Daye. "Teams are sliding to double and triple team him and he is not only scoring this season, but he is also creating scoring chances for his teammates."
Rabil will compete in his fourth straight MLL All-Star Game this Saturday, July 9 at Harvard Stadium. Rabil has dazzled All-Star crowds in the past with his 111 mph shot in the halftime Bud Light Skills Competition. This year, Rabil will compete in the Freestyle to once agin show the many skills of his game.
