(Boston, MA) - The Boston Cannons fell to the New Jersey Pride 13-10 in front of 9,154 fans at Harvard Stadium. Pride attackman Conor Ford led the way and was named Bud Light MVP. He finished with five goals. The loss drops the Cannons record to 3-4 while the Pride improve to 2-4. Jesse Hubbard netted three for New Jersey.

The Pride used two runs and three power play goals to earn the win. New Jersey went on a 4-1 run to start the first quarter and a 2-0 run to begin the third quarter. The Pride also converted on 3 of 4 man advantage opportunities. The Cannons were 0-5 on the power play.

"The man advantage numbers are a killer," said Bill Daye, Cannons head coach. "That is a huge difference in this game. They made the most of their opportunities and we didn't. That's why they won and we didn't."

Another big story in the game was face-offs. The Cannons were playing without their primary face-off midfield David Jenkins. The Pride won 16 face-offs to the Cannons 10.

"Not having David and Brett Bucktooth hurt us," said Daye. "But we can't make any excuses. We didn't execute and the Pride deserve a lot of credit. The came into a tough environment and earned the win."

The game was an incredibly entertaining affair highlighted by several eye-popping goals. Mike Powell had perhaps the best one converting on the newly minted "back-side crease-dive." Powell dove the length of the crease, behind the net and finished on a wrap around goal. Chazz Woodson and John Christmas also had highlight goals for Boston.

Woodson finished with two goals and two assists. Christmas and Poskay also had two goals apiece. Powell finished with a goal and an assist.

The Cannons cut the Pride lead to one, 11-10, five minutes into the fourth quarter on Christmas second goal. New Jersey closed the game with two goals, one by Ford and one by Hubbard to seal the deal.

The Cannons and Pride do it all again next week, this time in New Jersey. The two teams face-off again on Saturday June 30 at Rutgers.
