Cannons Announce 2015 Roster

BOSTON, MA - April 6, 2015- The Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, today announced their 25-man active roster and 6-man practice squad for the start of the 2015 season, according to Cannons General Manager Kevin Barney.
"We had a very productive training camp," said Cannons Head Coach John Tucker. "Our roster is littered with athletic and enthusiastic players as we build for the 2015 season. I was thrilled to see focus and intensity over the last few weekends. These players are very hungry to make a name for themselves."
The Cannons open the 2015 season, the organization's 15th anniversary season, at new home Gillette Stadium this Sunday, April 12th at 5:00pm against the defending MLL Champion Denver Outlaws. The Cannons handed Denver their first loss at home in over two years last season.
"We had a great two weekends of training camp to get us ready for opening day," said Cannons GM Kevin Barney. "With a limited number of practices we brought in players that we were confident would make our roster so we could concentrate on preparing for game one, rather than who would make the squad."
While there are many new names and faces to the Cannons roster, the 25-man active roster is highlighted by Will Manny, Scott Ratliff, Brent Adams and Jordan Burke who are all returning from the 2014 season. Veterans Mitch Belisle, Kevin Buchanan, and Brodie Merrill will begin the season on the MLL inactive list as they finish their indoor season.
Off-season trade additions Max Seibald, Ryan Young and Josh Amidon will provide additional veteran presence and a new offensive spark. Goalie Adam Ghitelman and defenseman Chad Wiedmaier, both acquired in off-season trades, will add veteran leadership to the defense along with second year Cannons' Scott McWilliams and Jack Reilly.
