Boston Cannons News Release

Boston, MA (January 11, 2004) – The Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) today announced its 2005 schedule, featuring seven home games and five road contests. The Cannons, a charter member of the MLL, begin their fifth season on the road in a rematch of the 2004 New Balance Championship Game. Boston plays at the defending MLL Champion Philadelphia Barrage May 29, 2005 at 7:00PM. The Barrage beat the Cannons in last season's Championship Game on August 22, 2004. It was Boston's first appearance in the MLL title game.

"I can't think of a better way to start the season," said Scott Hiller, Cannons Head Coach. "We had a great season last year, and we played our hearts out in the championship game. I know our guys have been ready to get back out on the field since that day, and going against the Barrage in a title rematch is a great way to kick off this season."

The Cannons call Boston University's Nickerson Field home for the second consecutive season. The Cannons begin their seven game home schedule on Saturday June 4, 2005 at 7:00PM against the Rochester Rattlers. The Cannons play five Saturday home games (all starting at 7PM) and two Thursday home games (both starting at 7:30PM). Boston's final home game is Thursday August 4, 2005 versus the Long Island Lizards.

The Cannons enter 2005 after reaching several attendance milestones in 2004. Boston topped the MLL in attendance for the third consecutive season. The Cannons averaged nearly 6,000 fans per game at Nickerson Field last season, a 26% increase in total attendance from the previous year. Boston also hosted the 2004 MLL New Balance Championship Weekend. The event drew over 15,000 fans, including a league postseason record 8,279 for the Championship Game.

"The Cannons had a very successful 2004 season," said David Gross, Cannons Vice President and MLL Commissioner. "Our move to Boston University's Nickerson Field helped continue the growth of both our team and our league. We look forward to another exciting and successful season in Boston in 2005."

Season tickets for the 2005 season are available for the affordable price of $105. Season ticket holders are guaranteed a spot in the seatback section of Nickerson Field. Complete Cannons ticket information is available at www.bostoncannons.com.
