
'Canes Reassign Mike Murphy to Charlotte

RALEIGH, NC - Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned goaltender Mike Murphy to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). Murphy was recalled on Thursday and served as the team's backup goaltender for the Hurricanes' preseason game that night at Buffalo.
The Hurricanes' training camp roster now stands at 34 players. An updated training camp roster is attached to this release.
