
Cane Cutters Lose Close Game against Bombers

Lafayette, La. - The Acadiana Cane Cutters have their winning streak come to an end in a close game against the Brazos Valley Bombers losing 5-6. The Cane Cutters played well, but just fell short of victory tonight on the road against the Bombers. Acadiana will have another shot at the Bombers tomorrow night in Bryan, Texas.
The Cane Cutters were able to score runs throughout the game, but ultimately fell short by 1 run against the Bombers tonight. Ben VanCleeve (Ole Miss) had 2 runs and 2 RBIs off of 2 hits in tonight's game. Carson Jones (ULM) had 2 hits on the night as well and was able to score 1 of the 5 runs for the Cane Cutters tonight. Jones also had a stolen base in tonight's game along with fellow teammates Ethan Lege (Delgado) and Conor Higgs (UL Lafayette).
The Cane Cutters had some good moments on the mound tonight in a tough loss against the Bombers. Mathew Adams (Southern Miss) pitched 4 innings and had 5 strikeouts. Adams only allowed 2 hits and did not allow a single run scored in those 4 innings. Andrew Cossio (Northwestern State) pitched 2 innings and had 3 strikeouts on the night.
The Cane Cutters will face off against the Brazos Valley Bombers again tomorrow night in Bryan, Texas. Acadiana will look to get back on the right track and add another victory to their record. The Cane Cutters will have one more road game before returning to play at home Sunday.
The Acadiana Cane Cutters will play again at home on Sunday, June 27th against the Baton Rouge Rougarou at Fabacher Field.
