Cane Cutters Fall to Bombers on the Road

Lafayette, La. - The Acadiana Cane Cutters outhit the Brazos Valley Bombers in their second consecutive road game against them tonight, but struggled to bat in the runs. The Cane Cutters fall to the Bombers 1-3 bringing their overall record to 7-10 on the season. Acadiana will be heading home after being on the road for 4 straight games to face the Baton Rouge Rougarou at Fabacher Field tomorrow.
Peyton LeJeune (LSUE) scored the only run of the night for the Cane Cutters with the help of Ben VanCleeve (Ole Miss). VanCleeve had 1 hit for a double and 1 RBI on the night, while LeJeune had 2 hits and 1 earned run in tonight's game. Two of Acadiana's UL Lafayette players, Will Veillion and CJ Willis, were able to each record a stolen base against the Bombers.
The Cane Cutters had a good defensive outing tonight against the Bombers only allowing 4 hits and 3 total runs on the night. Davis Pratt (Temple College) and Josh Mancuso (Nicholls State) were the only Cutters to see the mound tonight. Pratt tallied up an impressive 7 total strikeouts in 6 innings against the Bombers. Mancuso did a solid job only giving up 1 run on the night, but ultimately the Bombers were able to get away with the win.
The Cane Cutters will face off against the Baton Rouge Rougarou tomorrow night at Fabacher Field as Acadiana looks continue their win streak against their fellow Louisiana team in the TCL. This exciting bayou rivalry will bring it's way to Acadiana for the first time this season tomorrow night.
The Acadiana Cane Cutters will play at home tomorrow, June 27th, against the Baton Rouge Rougarou at Fabacher Field.
