August 8, 2013 - Texas Collegiate League (TCL)
Acadiana Cane Cutters News Release

With two games remaining on the 2013 regular season schedule, the Cane Cutters took to Brazos Valley for game one of their final set before playoffs. Having already locked in the third seed in the Texas Collegiate League postseason the team looked to stay healthy keep their momentum.

Acadiana struck first in the second inning when third baseman Nick Dawson drove in Blake Brom to put the Canes up by a tally. The lead stuck for just an inning and a half, when the Bombers were able to cash in during the third with two runs on Acadiana defensive miscues. The advantage would then switch back to the Cane Cutters' favor in the sixth after a Freddie Prince 2-RBI single to put the visiting squad up 3-2. The Cutters would go on to extend their lead in the seventh when white-hot catcher Mitchell Nau doubled home Kyle Cedotal upping the ante to 4-2. The Bombers would rally in the eighth to regain the lead and not look back. Hunter Hagler knocked in one with an RBI double, then right fielder Ford Moore struck for two with a single. The contest would end a 5-4 Bomber win.

The Cutters will play their final game of the regular season tomorrow night in Brazos Valley before heading to Victoria, Texas to take on the Generals to open up the playoffs. The first round of the Texas Collegiate League postseason is a winner-take-all, best of one.
