
Cane Cutters Defeat the Rougarou at Home

Acadiana Cane Cutters News Release
Lafayette, La. - The Acadiana Cane Cutters defeat the Baton Rouge Rougarou 4-2 at Fabacher Field getting them over 500 with a record of 12-11. The Cane Cutters will be back on the road tomorrow as they take on the Victoria Generals at 7pm at Riverside Stadium. The Cane Cutters have a series of road trips and will return home on July 20th to face the Victoria Generals at 7pm at Fabacher Field.
Acadiana went with only two pitchers on the night as Josh Mancuso (Nicholls State) and Nick McAuliffe (UNO) were able to get it done on the mound. Josh Mancuso was awarded the win going 7.0 innings with 6 strikeouts and gave up no runs with an ERA of 1.90. Nick McAuliffe was able to close out the game pitching 2.0 innings with 3 strikeouts. The Acadiana Cane Cutters will look to stay hot on the mound tomorrow night in the game against the Generals.
CJ Willis (UL Lafayette) was able to record two RBIs on two hits with one being a double in the bottom of the 4th. Ben Van Cleve (Ole Miss) and Will Veillion (UL Lafayette) were both able to reach base on doubles. Veillion was able to score 3 runs against the Rougarou tonight with Van Cleve scoring the other run for the Cane Cutters. Will Veillion, CJ Willis, and Logan McLeod (Louisiana Tech) each had a stolen base on the night as well.
The Cane Cutters look to stay hot on their trip to Victoria, Texas as Acadiana prepares to face off against the Generals for the first time this season. They will face the Generals in a 2-game series before heading back on the road to San Antonio on July 14th.
The Acadiana Cane Cutters will play again at home at Fabacher Field on July 20th against the Victoria Generals. All home games will begin at 7:00 pm and will be broadcast live on TCL TV.
