Edmonton Elks News Release

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos are proud to announce that Canadian Country Music stars Doc Walker, Gord Bamford and Dean Brody will be performing at the September 10th Labour Day Rematch game.

Dean Brody will start the game off by singing the National Anthem. Rising Canadian country music star Dean Brody broke into the music scene in 2009 with his self-titled debut album. The Jaffary, BC native's first single "Brothers" made major waves in the North American country music scene garnering an official 'certificate of appreciation' from the US Army for his song's contribution to the Armed Forces. The same song won him the 2009 CCMA Single of the Year. His follow up singles "Dirt Roads Scholar" and "Undone" went on to break the top five on Canadian radio with "Dirt Roads Scholar" hitting number one on CMT. He recently has released his second album Trail in Life.

Doc Walker and Gord Bamford will be performing for the 2010 Labour Day Rematch halftime show.

Dubbed one of the hardest working bands in Canadian Country Music, Doc Walker has been entertaining audiences for over a decade. Their efforts have been rewarded a number of times including six CCMA's in 2008 alone as well as a Juno for Country Recording of the Year in 2009 for their album 'Beautiful Life'. As their newest album 'Go' has hit stores, Doc Walker has been nominated for the 2010 Fan's Choice Award. Since that time he has released four studio albums which have generated numerous top 20 radio hits. In 2008, Bamford received his first ever Juno nomination for Country Recording of the Year. At the 2008 Canadian Country Music Awards, Gord picked up three CCMA awards for Top New Male Talent, Record Producer of the Year and Video on the Year for his single "Blame It On That Red Dress".
