Brockton 8, Sussex 5 (Game 1 - 7 innings)

The Brockton Rox collected 14 hits in the game and rode their offense to an 8-5 win on the road in game one of a doubleheader with Sussex. Brockton DH Palmer Karr led the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and a RBI. Rox C Chris Grossman also had a productive game at the plate. He finished 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI. Rox reliever Matt Zachary picked up his second win despite allowing two runs on four hits in two innings of work. Brockton closer Jerry Dunn struck out two in a 1-2-3 seventh to record his second save of the season.

Sussex 3, Brockton 1 (Game 2 - 7 innings)

The Sussex Skyhawks rebounded for a 3-1 win in game two of their doubleheader with Brockton thanks to a superb outing by starting pitcher Justin Knoff. Knoff allowed one run on four hits while striking out five en route to the win, his third of the season. Knoff's only real mistake was a pitch to Rox RF Jud Thigpen in the fifth inning. Thigpen hit that pitch for a solo home run, but it was all Brockton would get. Meanwhile, 3B Jeremy Hunt had a good game at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, a run scored and a RBI to lead the Sussex offense.

New Jersey 2, New Hampshire 0 (Game 1 - 7 innings)

The New Jersey Jackals got a great outing from starting pitcher Stuart Pomeranz and took game one of a doubleheader with New Hampshire, 2-0, at home. Pomeranz allowed just three hits and struck out six while walking one in six shutout innings to notch the win and improve to 3-1 on the year. Jackals closer Rusty Tucker followed with a perfect seventh to earn his eighth save of the season. Leading the way at the plate for New Jersey was SS Mike DeJesus who was 1-for-2 with a RBI.

New Jersey 3, New Hampshire 0 (Game 2 - 7 innings)

Behind another strong pitching performance, this time from starter Isaac Pavlik, New Jersey rolled to another shutout win against New Hampshire. Pavlik allowed just two runners to reach base and fanned half a dozen en route to his third win. That made life easy for the Jackals' offense, which tallied three runs on eight hits on the way to victory. New Jersey DH Juan Tejeda led the way, going 2-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI. The win for the Jackals in game two completed a three-game sweep of the American Defenders and ran their winning streak to 10 games.

Worcester 5, Quebec 3

The Worcester Tornadoes moved a half-game up on Quebec thanks to some timely hitting and a good performance on the mound by starting pitcher Ryan Lobban. Lobban scattered 10 hits and allowed two runs in 7 1/3 innings to lead the way and pick up his third win of the season. Leading the way at the plate for Worcester was DH Alex Trezza, who was 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and a RBI. With the game tied 2-2 entering the bottom of the fifth inning, the Tornadoes scored a run to take a 3-2 lead. They would put the game out of reach in the bottom of the eighth when they strung together two hits and added a pair of runs to take a 5-2 lead. Worcester reliever Santiago Ramirez allowed a run in the ninth, but held on to earn his first save after working the game's final 1 2/3 innings.
