The Sussex Skyhawks got great pitching from their staff, limiting the Worcester Tornadoes to just two hits en route to a 4-0 victory in Game Three of the Can-Am League Playoffs. The victory gives the Skyhawks a 2-1 series lead. Sussex starting pitcher Gary Galvez picked up the win, allowing just two hits and one walk while striking out seven in five shutout innings. Skyhawks closer Matt Petrusek took over with two out in the eighth inning and fanned two on his way to his second save of the series. Skyhawks C Yohanny Valera did the bulk of the damage at the plate. With one swing of the bat in the second inning, Valera provided his team with all the support it would need as he nailed a three-run homer to put Sussex up for good. Valera finished the game 1-for-3.

Atlantic City 9, Quebec 8

In a game that featured a three-hour, 18-minute rain delay and another 20-minute power delay, Atlantic City won a thriller over Quebec. The Capitales had an 8-0 lead after five and a half innings, before the Surf came back with five in their half of the fifth, including a three-run home run by DH Clyde Williams and a solo blast by 1B Eddie Kim. Atlantic City cut the lead to 8-7 with a pair of runs in the eighth before the rain delay. In the ninth, the Surf loaded the bases before Quebec reliever David Wasylak threw a pair of wild pitches to bring home the tying and winning runs. LF Alex Nunez went 5-for-5 for the Capitales, while SS Anthony Granato, C William Plaza and RF Josh Burrus each had a pair of hits for the Surf.
