Trois-Rivieres 4, Sussex County 0

Matthew Rusch pitched a complete game shutout for the Trois-Rivieres Aigles in a 3-0 win over the Sussex County Miners. Rusch allowed just three hits and struck out 10 in his dominant performance. CF Steve Brown also aided Rusch with a three-run homer in the first inning for the Aigles. Brown brought in the fourth run with a sacrifice later in the game. LF Craig Hertler had a 4-for-5 night with two runs for Trois-Rivieres.

Sussex County got hits from 2B Rey Otero, LF Brady Wilson and C Jayson Hernandez. Matt Sommo pitched eight innings and struck out six. Julio Rodriguez pitched a scoreless inning.

New Jersey 11, Quebec 3

The New Jersey Jackals scored five runs in the first inning and cruised to an 11-3 win over the Quebec Capitales. In the first, the Jackals sent 11 batters to the plate. DH A.J. Kirby-Jones hit an RBI single to start the scoring, followed by 1B Mark Threlkeld's two-run double. RBI singles from 3B Jared Schlehuber and C Tony Caldwell rounded out the first inning scoring. Threlkeld had a night stat line: three hits, two RBIs, one walk, one run.

Anthony Claggett picked up the win for New Jersey with a six inning, one earned run performance. Alex Powers pitched two perfect innings.

Quebec did its scoring with a solo home run from DH Justin Marra, and then two runs later came in when 2B Cedric Vallieres' hit caused an error.

Rockland 8, Garden State 1

A strong all-around performance from the Rockland Boulders allowed them to beat the Garden State Grays 8-1. Pitching was strong, beginning with Marcus Jensen, who tossed six innings and allowed just the one run and also struck out six. Austin Kirk pitched the next two innings, and Pat Butler closed out the game, and neither allowed a run. C Joe Maloney went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and one run, and LF Stephen Cardullo was 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBIs and one walk. DH Marcus Nidiffer also added two RBIs. To round out the all-around performance, Rockland made zero errors.

Garden State's sole run occurred in the first inning off LF Shawn Payne's solo home run. Payne led his team with two hits.

Winnipeg 6, Ottawa 5

The Winnipeg Goldeyes squeezed out a 6-5 win over the Ottawa Champions with a run in the top of the ninth inning to break the tie. 1B Casey Haerther's RBI single nudged the Goldeyes to victory and gave Winnipeg its first run since the second inning. 3B Josh Mazzola's opened the game with a three-run blast in the first inning for Winnipeg, and the Goldeyes added two RBI singles in the second.

Though Ottawa fell behind early in the game, it scratched its way back to tie the game. CF Sebastien Boucher hit an RBI single in the first inning, and C Daniel Grauer added an RBI double in the fourth, among other scoring plays.

Winnipeg's Rett Varner picked up the win after striking out two in a scoreless eighth inning. Jailen Peguero got the save with a scoreless ninth.
